Hi, we are The Hanson Family and we are homesteaders. Don’t know what homesteading is? It is a life based on self-sufficiency, meaning we grow what we can, limit food waste and focus on crafting our own goods for homemaking.

We believe that this way of living allows us to grow and learn as a family while saving money and enjoying each and every day. And we honestly believe that everyone can live this way, no matter where or what they call home.

We enjoy cooking and baking from scratch (gluten free and vegetarian recipes are our bread and butter), building and crafting together, spending quality time with our family and creating beautiful spaces in our homes (and others).

We certainly hope you follow us along on this journey, and we will share so much about our lives and our family, but in the meantime, here are some things to know about us:

  1. We are a blended family of 6 beautiful kiddos and 2 ridiculously in love adults. We kiss A LOT and our kids thing it is super gross (but also love watching us dance around the kitchen).
  2. We have a seriously cute Golden Retriever pup named Gunner.
  3. Tait and I both love creating inviting spaces for people to enjoy. My background is in event design and Tait’s is in home design.
  4. Mornings in our house are dedicated to devotionals and prayer time. And coffee, coffee is required. (We have a Keurig on our nightstand)
  5. Tait is without a doubt my big strong man. He can haul just about anything and build spectacular things with his bare hands. Flying, stinging insects make him scream like a little girl.
  6. Our happy place is a slice of heaven on Flathead Lake in Montana.
  7. We love Jesus and Thomas Rhett, but our workout playlist would make the club crowd blush.
  8. We planned our wedding in just 5 weeks, building most of it ourselves, and we absolutely LOVED it.
  9. Each of our kids has a completely different personality and best way that they learn. And in case you were wondering, yes, that is as complicated as it seems.
  10. I am a native Tennessean, Tait is a Montana man. We had to go to Washington to find each other. Life is weird.
